Hi@all!
Today I tested 2 SVCD's on a DVD-Player with a big TV! Both SVCD's worked perfekt on my DVD-Rom on my PC! On the TV I noticed that on some SVCD's the black stripes flickered! It was on one of two! And on both SVCD's I had problems with the movie! When something moves fast, some parts of the screen don't move that fast (especially the colors). Those parts are slower or don't even move for a short time. Like a mouse track! I noticed that on every SVCD! Why did it work on my PC and what can I do against that? Hope you can understand what I mean, because of my english :-(
Thanx
Greetz

What is you DVD player? Some DVD players have a bitrate limit, go beyond it and you get jerkiness. e.g. my pioneer 344 is jerky at 2500 video bitrate but perfect at 2400.

But I used a very low Bitrate just to test it on one CD and the Quality was good! Do I have to set a Minimum Bitrate?
Thnx

In some cases you have to set a minumum bitrate otherwise some players won't play the movie correctly.
By default in DVD2SVCD a minimum bitrate of 300 kbps is set. It's better to keep this setting...

Hi! Wenn I set avi2svcd in DVD2SVCD can I select a divX? What if I have a divX with bad sound a bad Movie bitrate? Does it correct it?
Thnx!

If you put junk in you will get junk out.
Your source has to be good. There is no way for another encoder to fix a bad source file. Chances are it will be worse, not better.

Hi!
I think the problem was because I used a to small bitrate! I made the SVCD again on 2 CD's with a normal bitrate! The MPEG File works perfectly on my PC! When I burn the *.cue File on a CD and I put it in my DVD Rom, it says "No CD insert"!!! Why!
All the time I used Fireburner 2.1.2 registered and now I used 2.1.6 unregistered! I burned 4x! Why can't he read it? I tested it on 2 PC's! It workt all the time!
Thnx

this happens for me also. ALL my movies burnned with fireburner beggins ok, but after few minutes it looks bad and after almost 30 minutes it will be unwatchable. There is no problems with the speed of burnning - most of times 2x - neither with fireburner settings - tryed all. The mpeg file is perfect, and plays fine in my computer using file mode. However, using winDVD, its behaviour is almost the same of my standalone. Thus, my conclusion is that there is a corruption of files of table of contents, while burning with fireburner. Because of this, it was removed from "newbie faq".
