:mad: I have correctly installed and am a pinnacle studio PCTV Pro. I open up VirtualDub and start capture.avi. VirtualDub correctly shows the preview but when I go to start capturing I get Error 424: Cannot open capturing device. I can find no reference to the error in the documentation and I am at a loss. Help.

Try using preview instead of overlay during capture. Or better don't display anything while capturing. You'll find the settings in the various menus of VirtualDub...

Make yourself familiar with the multisegment capture mode, and don't forget to set up a spill drive.

does vdub recognize your card in the settings?
