Hi all,

I just have a simple question, because it's not in the guide:

If I do double pass encoding do I need to compress the audio stream in the first pass? Would I get different results if I select "uncompressed audio" for the first pass and MP3 for the second?

Regards

No, audio selection for the first pass will have no effect on the final results.
The first pass creates a small but unuseable avi file, this will be overwritten by the second pass.

I've tried it and it works fine. Actually if you think of the logic of multipass encoding it was a stupid question. But why does he create a file if it is deleated anyway?

Have a nice day
