Hi I hope this hasn't been asked 100 times, i couldnt find it in the FAQs...

I am dissatisfied with the way VLC handles subtitles (idx+sub) and since they work perfectly in WMP via the directshow filter, I'm asking, is there a way to let directshow manage subtitles in VLC?
VLC sometimes renders them poorly, and other times won't render them at all, when I know they work fine (cause WMP shows them)

When VLC starts it prevents vobsub from loading, i guess, cause I can't see the green arrow icon. I'd like VLC to ignore the subs, just like WMP who doesnt know how to display idx subs, and let vobsub do the job

is that possible?

and while we're on the subject... is that possible to have quicktime player work with vobsub?

thanks

No. VLC does not use DirectShow. Neither does QuickTime. Both use their own private decoding libraries for everything.
