i tried to open/run bdinfo (http://www.cinemasquid.com/Tools.aspx) and i get the following error:

http://mariosworld.org/assets/images/forum_images/forum.doom9.org/bdinfo_application_error.png

1.) i got it from the official site (http://www.cinemasquid.com/Tools.aspx)!!! (http://www.cinemasquid.com/downloads/BDInfo.v.0.5.2.zip)
2.) i scanned it for viruses
3.) i did not use a download manager
4.) it happens on different windows setups, and some are very clean (i multi boot)
5.) i re-downloaded it several times
6.) i asked a friend to download it, and he can open it just fine.
7.) my system is clean of viruses/trojans
8.) xp sp3 on intel cpu

any ideas ?

If BDInfo is a .NET application, you may need to copy the .exe into a directory that is NOT a network drive, and run it from there.

@MPAA

From the website you linked:Requirements:
Windows XP or Vista Operating System
Blu-ray BD-ROM Drive
.NET Framework 2.0 Do you have NET Framework 2.0 installed on your system?

not at the moment. if a program requires it i let it install, but i don't automatically install it by myself.
i'll install it and report back. (thanks both)
BUT... if that's what it is, surely we must all admit (well i do/will) that it's a fing joke. they couldn't check and have a better and specific error ? they couldn't have an error that said:"you must have net framework v2.0+ installed to run this file", or something like that ???
i'm pretty sure i have come across some programs before that required net framework, and they either had it or at least told you to install it - it didn't have you guessing. sweet Jesus...

thanks,

if a program requires it i let it install, but i don't automatically install it by myself.I'm beginning to believe the "angry" part under your screenname ;>}

The authors of BDInfo have no right to automatically install NetFramework (a Microsoft program) on your system.

All you had to do is exactly what I did - Read the CLEARLY STATED requirements that appear on the page YOU provided a link to...

no, what i have a problem with is the ERROR that the program gives... not that it requires .net framework.
anyway, now we know.
