I wanted to try BD-Rebuilder and have run into some snags. When I first tried it I was getting some of the same problems that some people were getting as well. The error out at the main movie files. So I decided to wipe my machine of all variants of ffdshow, avisynth, and matroska. Then ran ccleaner after to find any small bits & pieces left behind. All seemed fine. I reinstalled (in this order) ffdshow 2639 byt clsid, Haali Media Splitter 01-11-09, and avisynth 2.5.8.
It now errors out at the first VC1 file. If the file was mpg2 originally it has no problems. Also when it did work before, I was getting a grey screen for the VC1 based m2ts files. The original files work fine in PowerDVD so I'm at a loss as to why they would be greyed out.
Any help is appreciated as this is the first blu-ray that has given me this much trouble. I've done Wall-E and The Dark Knight (both via the RipBot264 method I'm sorry to say) but this particular disc is giving me fits. It's Wrestlemania 24 for the record (and no "wrestlings fake" comments needed please.. :) )
I'd really like to try this program out as I have dvd rebuilder pro and love it. I know JD will make this program as good as the other given time and support.
Thanks again, if you need to know anything else, just let me know.

VC-1 encoded files randomly crash x264 for me, i can rerun the encode and it works fine, this is a problem for me because sometimes i'll come home and the pc will be displaying "x264 has a problem and needs to close" for the past 12 hours...

Do note that in almost all such cases, it's actually the decoder that's crashing--so the general best solution is to try another decoder.

Hi thanks for the reply, what decoder is best, i think i use libravcodec or whatever it is in ffdshow.
That's what I have selected, should I try the wmv9 selection instead in this case??
Just trying to figure out the grey video problem.
Thanks again!!

Looks like this is going to die... :(
It seems to be a problem with VC1 content only. Or at the very least this disc set. Trying Pineapple Express and then Hancock to see if there's a difference.
Pineapple Express is done in MPG2 and MPG4, so it "should" work fine.. been running it for a couple of hours now and it seems to be fine. Will see when the end product comes out, if it does.

You should select wmv9 in ffdshow as VC1 decoder. It should work at least for progressive material (main movie) and should work for pure interlaced material as well.
You may still experience problems with mixed progressive/interlaced streams, however. I am not aware of any free decoder which handles such material properly.

Tried that and it still give me grey screens with the VC1 content. If it's a MPEG(2 or 4) source it works fine. It's just the VC1 stuff that has problems. Of course, I'm still working on Pineapple Express (BD -> BD9) and it's chuging along fine so far. It has to be something in the disc makeup. I'll post what I know once I get back home.
Thanks again for the help.

Pineapple Express finished re-building, burnt it to a DVD+R DL (Verbatim - Singapore), tossed it into my PS3... and nothing... didn't recognize it... :(
It's almost 4am and I need to head off to work soon, so I'll try to figure out what went wrong, and try to play it in PowerDVD once I get home later.

Sounds like a compatibility issue.
The PS3 doesn't support normal BD9s according to this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=144674).

The PS3 will see a Full Copy BD9 or BD5 as a data disc, so its pretty useless for that purpose.
If you do a Movie Only copy, and use the "Stricter Compliance for AVCHD" option, or remove the AUXDATA folder before burning to a SL or DL DVD, then it should be recognized as an AVCHD disc. These discs played perfectly when produced with beta 17.13, but some (most) have playback problems with the beta 18.x versions.
The PS3 will play Full Movie BD-25 discs without any problems. About the only thing I haven't tried is a Movie Only to BD-25.
I hate to see jdobbs get too bogged down on the PS3 issues, as I think its probably a minority of the installed base of players. As a PS3 owner, I'm glad he's taking the problem seriously though.

Too bad the PS3 is really the only blu-ray player I own (aside from the drive used to rip the discs). I tried it in PowerDVD and it came back a unrecognizable format, or something like that... will have to try it again later some other way. Right now I have other projects my other machine can be doing instead of this...
Will post something if I get another chance soon.
Thanks for the help!! :)

I tried going back to the Wrestlemania 24 disc. Used ToNmt to remux the video source from 3 parts to 1. Now I have a single m2ts file. it plays fine in PowerDVD, but has no chapter points. How would I go about turning that into a AVCHD disc WITH the chapter points intact??
This is getting oh so complicated... why can't they make Blu-Rays as easy as DVD's??? Oh yea... people like us... lol!!!! :D

May I ask you how did you back-up Wall-E in movie only mode ?
I try with BD-RB, but every playlist I try is giving me error...
