Hello:
I see that I can use the non deterministic option. It improves the quality of the SMP but then the repeatability will be affect.
I would like to know how works the non deterministic option.
What is SMP?
What problem would I have if the repeatability is affected? I have a bigger file at the same crf but a better quality?.
is it a good idea to use this option?
Thanks.

I would like to know how works the non deterministic option. It allows the motion search to go up to the area that the previous threads have actually completed rather than what they are required to have completed. In practice, this can slightly increase motion search range. What is SMP?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symmetric_multiprocessingWhat problem would I have if the repeatability is affected? It means if you run the encode twice, you'll get slightly different results.I have a bigger file at the same crf but a better quality?.The effect is basically zero in practice.

I assume this only applies to multithreading, right? If I was stupid and wanted to encode with only one of my cpu-cores then this option would not have any effect?
