Well because of BD rebuilder now I had no choice but upgrade my processor. I have a AMD 6000+ x2, today I ordered a AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz. It's no i7 but for $235 the total out of pocket cost compared to 7-8 hundred for a i7 system.

The complicated part is I have to switch MBs with my wifes computer and more than likely this will require a fresh install. If I upgrade to 64bit I will also have to do a fresh install. So why not now.

I kinda hoped I could boot each and windows would patch install all the new drivers.

Being that every thing I presently do works fine in 32bit and all I do with this computer is process and play BD video and my goal is to speed up BDRB encodes. I posted this here.

Have you guys found that 64bit is the way to go?:thanks:

If you've got 4gb of system ram, 64 bit is the way to go! 32 bit is really only any good to 3gb of system ram (maybe slightly higher depending on configuration), any more can't be used.

You might want to try the Windows 7 beta (64-bit version). Anything that works with Vista 64, should work with it... and its free for the beta period. It will at least give you some breathing space on deciding what OS to use.
