Multiple Versions of AviSynth

I remember reading back a while ago that you can have multiple versions of AviSynth on the same computer and change them by editing a dll file. I can't seem to find that information anywhere now though on these forums, or anywhere else for that matter.

I would greatly appreciate some guidence on if it's possible to use multiple versions on the same computer, and how I would go about doing that.

i switch versions by renaming/copying the version's dll i want to use to 'avisynth.dll' in windows\sysWOW64 (this will be system32 for x86 systems)
