When I compile a movie I can chose the Source Aspect ratio.
Selecting 16:9 adds border to make a correct 4:3 but that is not an option.
But if I have an anamorfic 16:9 movie and select 4:3 to get an anamorfic SVCD. Everything works exept that the mpg have internally an aspect ratio that says 4:3.
If I play it in Windows Media Player it uses 4:3 aspect ratio.
I opend up one movie in Bitrate Viewer 1.5.002 commersial version http://www.tecoltd.com/bitratev.htm and changed the aspect to 16:9 and saved. The resulting mpg plays with correct aspect in Windows Media Player.
There is an option in CCE called "Aspect ratio:", DVD2SVCD allways sets this to "DAR 4:3". It would be nice to be able to select "DAR 16:9" instead. Either under the CCE tab or under Conversion tab where there could be one "Source aspect ratio" and one "Destination aspect ratio". Source does its stuff via bordering :) and Destination sets the CCE-option.
Another thing, In CCE the Luminance level is allways set to "16 to 235". That is correct when making a SVCD from a source that have lumincence from 0 to 255. But all DVD have already a luminance level between "16 to 235", and probaly all divx to. It would be better to use "0 to 255" so that the original luminence level is left untouched.
If there is another reason for sometimes using 16 to 235 it would be nice that this where selectable under the CCE-tab
