When I compile a movie I can chose the Source Aspect ratio.
Selecting 16:9 adds border to make a correct 4:3 but that is not an option.
But if I have an anamorfic 16:9 movie and select 4:3 to get an anamorfic SVCD. Everything works exept that the mpg have internally an aspect ratio that says 4:3.
If I play it in Windows Media Player it uses 4:3 aspect ratio.
I opend up one movie in Bitrate Viewer 1.5.002 commersial version http://www.tecoltd.com/bitratev.htm and changed the aspect to 16:9 and saved. The resulting mpg plays with correct aspect in Windows Media Player.

There is an option in CCE called "Aspect ratio:", DVD2SVCD allways sets this to "DAR 4:3". It would be nice to be able to select "DAR 16:9" instead. Either under the CCE tab or under Conversion tab where there could be one "Source aspect ratio" and one "Destination aspect ratio". Source does its stuff via bordering :) and Destination sets the CCE-option.

Another thing, In CCE the Luminance level is allways set to "16 to 235". That is correct when making a SVCD from a source that have lumincence from 0 to 255. But all DVD have already a luminance level between "16 to 235", and probaly all divx to. It would be better to use "0 to 255" so that the original luminence level is left untouched.
If there is another reason for sometimes using 16 to 235 it would be nice that this where selectable under the CCE-tab

I strongly support the feature request for a 16:9 CCE setting.
Until now the only option i found is to manually change the ecl file before encoding or change the DAR with a HEX editor which isn't to comfortable.
I know there aren't many standalone players out there that support a 16:9 SVCD but some software players do (i think it was WinDVD, gotta check that again)
By the way is there any other app that lets you change the DAR of an existing mpeg file?
I can't find a backup of the commercial version of the Bitrate Viewer anywhere :(

I read in another thread that the luminance setting has no effect for YUV source (which is what we have). I don't know if this is correct.

The docs say you're supposed to use 0-255 for PC scale and 16-235 for TV scale, but I don't know how this plays out for DVD -> SVCD conversion. My search of the forums didn't yield any definitive answers. But if it doesn't matter for YUV source we don't need to care. Does anyone know for sure?

I'd also like to be able to adjust the Intra DC Precision. I realize that this may have something to do with the CCE crashes, but it would be nice to give the user some control over this. I tried to change this by modifying my Standard CCE template, but that didn't seem to have any effect.
