View Full Version : Intel Indeo Video...

I have some old video files that I encoded in Intel Indeo Video 5 (thought it would be a good idea at the time). However, today the codec has no support and almost no programs will even accept the files for conversion.

I want to edit the files and upload them to YouTube, but I cannot convert them to a format that any editing program will use. Not to mention the file sizes are massive, so uploading them as-is is not a possibility.

Any have any converters you think can handle these files? Better yet, any FREE programs you think can handle them?

Thanks.

(I have the codec installed on my PC, but most of today's programs simply don't have support for it.)

Since you have the codec installed, even Virtualdub should be able to read it (as will AviSource through Avisynth).

Yup...

I'd suggest transcoding the files to HuffYUV or another keyframe codec using VirtualDub, and then edit as you please and encode for YouTube.
