Anyone have any advice to avoid the annoying color shift that takes place when going from a transition to a still menu?

There are several cases when some kind of color shift may occur but nothing comes to mind that can be attributed to Scenarist itself. For example, this could be caused by specific type of player (noticed in PowerDVD) or encoding of the transition MPEG stream (try using progressive material and encoding). You might want to elaborate on your specific problem.

Workaround: Set up your menu near the very end of the transition stream (half a second or so). Set the pause at the end of this transition menu to infinite (255 sec). If possible, re-encode the transition video with the last frame type set to I-frame to ensure quality of the still image. Ensure that the last frames of the transition video are identical to the desired still menu.

In case you want to bypass the transition in some situations, keep the original still menu as is.

It's a well known bug in Scenarist.
Encode you still as a 5 sec video and keep last frame displayed forever.

I think it depends by the video encoding settings and the still image.
Probably the still image is in RGB while the video is encoded in YUY2 (through is in RGB).
Try to encode the video in CCE with the 0-255 settings and then add the still image. With these settings I've never had this kind of problem (at least with Scenarist 3.x)

It's a Scenarist bug and has nothing to do with video.

btw.. your vidoe is going to have wrong levels- will be to dark
