Cut the crap man! I posted this question in noob section so you can guide me to the right filters or script I can use for upscaling my videos. Now in the world where did you thought that the videos I downloaded is illegal material or someones copyright. They may be creative lis. or something else. Now the problem is that I have a personal Sony Handy Cam (SD) shot movie of a picnic which I want to upscale which is of course in mpeg2 format.

no need to get cranky.... he was asking a question.....
Why don't you use the post processing capabilities of software players and various other filters some players have to do the upscalling for you, the results aren't going to be much different to up scaling the video manually.
Failing that start reading the avi synth manual and work out how your video needs to be cleaned up then apply the appropriate filters.
Every video is different, one set of filters may not give the same results on a different video

Thankgod somebody finally replied! I know about the ffdshow post processing capabilities but searching forums revealed that manually or hard upscaling could never be matched with the post processing techniques as many filters give very 1 2 fps if applied in post processing. I just want you to please share any upscaling avi synth script which could at least give me an idea to start with.

I don't use AviSynth and i Don't upscale..... can't help, i tried it once and no matter what filters i applied the original usually looked better, so for 2-4 times the storage capacity, the time involved and the average results, i decided not to bother.... and it's staying that way seens i have a BluRay/HD combo drive in this PC!
