Anybody seen a performance and quality comparison in HD playback to two giants amd and nvidia?

I guess more options are always good, but I've got to ask - why bother?

There are multiple extremely affordable and sufficient solutions from both the red and green camps (AMD / nVidia), both as far as integrated graphics and add-in PCIe / AGP cards are concerned. Both have good drivers and wide support for DXVA in Media Player Classic HC.

Well, competition is always good:)
I see place for new platform Via nano + S3 chrome, if it had a reasonable price of course. HD in netbook is something new that chrome can bring.

Uhm, wow. Isn't the S3 Chrome a few years old now?

Interesting.

I see a lot of potential in the Atom and the Nano for cheap, cool, and quiet HD HTPCs, provided both platforms get DXVA acceleration of course ;)
