.AVI to DVD and dvd to 720 or 1080 ???

Hi,

First, i really dont know in which section to ask this question but i'm looking for a program that can convert my dvd into 720P or 1080. I was wondering if it possible. If yes can you show me a link please.

Another question, it is possible to convert an .avi files into a dvd files, my dvd player doesnt read .avi at all. If it possible can you show me a link or something like that.

Don't bother upscalling your videos, the time required to do this and the minimal gains combined with the increased storage requirements is not worth the effort..... Any software that can resize a video can upscale to 720 or 1080p but the thing to keep in mind is that upscalling a video does not add any detail that wasn't there in the beginning, and can quite often make the video look soft/blury, depeding on the scaler used (not software but the method used to resize the image).

For avi (or any other container for that matter) to DVD conversion i like DVD Flick, it is based around ffmpeg and so far has worked flawlessy everytime for me, in the same sentance why convert a AVI to DVD why not just make a backup of your original disc?

AVI to DVD conversion is ground that has been trodden allot, it is not a new process at all, doing a google search will result in millions of hits.

hey dat720 I have a 22inch monitor. The problem is that upscaled videos look nice on that as compared to ripped videos i found on internet. I want to upscale the videos but doesn't know where to start. I know how to use Megui and manually add size to avisynth scripts beyond 720 but wan't to know about the filters used for proper and polished upscales. Can you refer me to any software or guide source for upscaling.
