Hi, I am usning Dvd2Svcd (1.2.3 build 1)in conjunction with D2SRoBa ver 3.80 following the guide on afterdawn "How to Convert DivX to DVDR with DVD2SVCD (D2SRoBa Method)" I just want to convert an avi that was created with divx encoder (not by me) to a svcd compliant file. I follow the settings suggested in the guide and all seems to work well but the final mpg when played has 3 pictures side by side! I guess avisynth is doing it but when I look at the avisyth scripts that are produced, they look harmless just simple resizing using bicubic. any ideas why i should be getting 3 pictures side by side!

Is it a movie or what?

no just a short clip but actually I get the same result when i try other clips in avi form (havent tried any other fomat) I have just tried an experiment using DVD2Svcd but instead of using CCE as the encoder I tried TmpGenc and QuEnc and they both produce normal picture results so its somthing to do with CCE. But as i said if if follow a guide or change nothing and let D2SRoBa do it all - I always get 3pics side by side! I am a newbie and am puzzled as to what to try next. maybe the solution is not to use CCE! but i thought it was way quicker than QuEnc or TMpGenc?

I should also add that if i encode the same file by starting CCE on its own (NOT under the control of DVD2Svcd or D2SRoBa) if encodes normally. no 3pic inone effect.

Well I just downloaded CCE 2.67.0.02 trial and it works with DVD2Svcd - it doesnt produce the 3 pics side by side effect. so i will be using this version. wonder if other people manage ok with ver 2.70.2.12

Hi verydoomed,

you could have saved yourself a lot of trouble if you had read the DVD2SVCD stickies (supported encoders list in this case) before doing encodes. Here is the link:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=742745#post742745

You will notice that DVD2SVCD does not support CCE 2.70. It can be used though, but only by applying a couple of tricks. And with CCE SP 2.67 which you are using now you also have to know what you are doing. For the trial version you will have to use ECLCCE by RB. And again all the details can be found in the stickies...

Cheers

yes I had applied and knew about ECLCCE by RB, I waded through lots of stuff to find the answer before posting believe me, and searched the internet. but i wasnt sure wich programme was making the effect, avisynth, CCE, etc so I missed the info you are referring to in the sticky on DVD2svcd, ill go back and look for it out of interesst.
Oh yes I realise that I had already read this post but found it wasnt very clear cut, i mean it said "DVD2SVCD does not get on well with these versions. However, D2SRoBa does and the quality is, in my opinion, slightly better "
So as i was going to be using D2SRoBa I thougth it might be fine? I must of misunderstood, I dont find that part of the post very clear.
