I have a GGC-H20L Blu Ray/HD-DVD rom drive and I have played many Blu Ray movies on it.
My PC is hooked up to my Vizio L32 LCD TV through VGA.
I use PowerDVD Ultra as a player.
Recently when I tried to watch Blow and Get Smart (both Blu Ray discs) it would get past the FBI warnings and I would see a little disc in the middle of the screen as if it were loading...then it goes away...then I can't do anything. I hit play, nothing happens. If I hit menu it says Prohibited.
So far it has only happened on these two movies...all other movies work fine.
Why is this happening???

I've never had this problem since I just run AnyDVD HD while watching my movies.
You could try hooking it up with an HDMI cable and make sure your equipment is all HDCP compatible. If not, you'll need to decrypt you movies with something like AnyDVD HD.

Even after I have decrypted them in AnyDVD HD, when I go to open the .iso, the same thing happens. I know everything is HDCP compliant because again, I have played plenty of other Blu Ray discs...these 2 seem to be giving me this problem though and I can't figure out why.
woah!

turn off DEP if you are using winxp.. this is a guess....
" OK, I think I figured out what causes the main problem. I've started with a clean system, with the latest PowerDVD 7.3 and 8 installed. With DEP set to default everything works fine. With DEP set for all programs with no exceptions, both versions of PowerDVD open. But here's what seems to be causing the problem, discs with Java menu's (mummy returns, signs etc) don't go any further, but discs with basic menu's seem to play fine. If you then add PowerDVD to the DEP list everything then works fine. So it seems to be when it's accessing Java for the menu's that seems to cause the problem

I am using Vista 64 bit Ultimate. Even so, I looked up how to turn off DEP in Vista and it didn't work. Please keep the ideas coming. Thanks in advance.

I think he's just padding his reply to reach this forum's minimum character limit for posts.

Squid is right...I just added that so the post will go through.
But yes, the original commercial Blu Ray discs do the same thing.

Since no one else has posted regarding the same or similar problem, I'd suggest that you return the discs to the place of purchase, in exchange for new replacements...

Before doing that i would suggest to use another/updated software player. I made the experience that players still fail to play specific discs.

I want to try the discs on other players but what sucks is I don't know anyone that has a Blu Ray player. lol
I don't think I've ever updated the firmware on my GGC-H20L and I bought it back in September. Maybe I'll try doing that first, because I realized that Blow and Get Smart are are fairly new releases. I'm also getting Dark Knight, Wall E and Tropic Thunder within the next two weeks.
Maybe it's a new version or something on the disc with the new releases?
I'll post back when I try the other new movies arriving soon.

1) The place of puchase?
2) An electronics store?
