View Full Version : AutoMKV question: missing output file

Hello. I've been using AutoMKV for the last couple of months and recently moved to the 0.98.1 version. After I made the update, I ran a .mpg through AutoMKV to convert into .mp4 format. The process ended, no error messages, but when I went to the destination folder, there was no .mp4 file. I looked in the temp file and saw a .264 vile and a .aac file, but it looked like the two never got muxed together into an .mp4. I did a search of the entire computer looking for *.mp4 files, and the one I had just tried to create was not there.
Anyone know why this would happen? Alternatively, anyone know what tool I can use to manually mux the .264 and .aac file? I've tried a couple of times and had the same result.
Thanks!
Adam

Did you look at the muxing .bat file? Often times there is a path in there that doesn't exist and that is your problem. Maybe your "Chapters.txt" file is missing.

Looking at this now, it looks like it's saying the movie is 0 bytes long. This is confusing to me; the .mpg file that I am trying to convert is 2.8GB. I can watch the entire movie. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

That appears to have done the trick--right now it's encoding again and this time taking much longer (presumably because last time the video encode wasn't happening). I thought it was too short, but I was trying a new profile and thought that might account for the speed-up.
Speaking of profiles, is there a place where a description of each profile is posted? I haven't seen one in most of the wikis I've found.
Thanks very much for your help, BHH!
