What subtitle format is THIS?

Have you any idea about the format? Looks like .srt, but without the Data in front of the actual text. I tried to open it with SubtitleWorkshop under different formats, but it remains unknown...

It was extracted from an .mkv-file with VDubMod. The media information identifies the subs as .ass, but that can't really be, can it?

Hiw did you make the MKV or where did you get it?

Got it from a friend. Says, he doesn't know which program he used to make it (a year ago or so).
