i had to laugh out loud when as i went from sample to sample, a lower bitrate each time.

small thing/critique to point out: the donuts/rings towards the end seem to be a bit higher quality than the first part

also, my cap was from the party version which glitches out part way through (i think it wasted some bits, too, so quality could have been even a bit higher).

i think even the 260kbps version could have been ok, too, except for the smoke as the grubs land...

keep up the awesome work, aku, ds, and everyone else working on/contributing to x264!

I didn't know that our polish demoscene is so good?!?! Respect! Excellent demo!

very impressive :)

On one of my encodes, the stats file was larger then the output. I was doing 480x360 @ 64kb for video, 16kb for audio; for the given bitrate, I was very impressed. Nonetheless the above encode is quite good at low bitrates!

i think i read into the pink 1.05 is out. didn't click on the link, tho

very impressive :)

i'm sure i could squeeze out a bit more performance, but i just don't understand some of the options (not visible in MeGUI)

Is there a HD capture of that demo available? I tried to capture it myself with .kkapture, but it will stall right at the beginning :o

(was using version 1.04)

Use Fraps

Use Fraps

It will even stall right at the beginning when I run it without any capture software :(

Also Fraps isn't suitable to capture Demos. The .kkapture software makes sure the Demo runs exactly at the desired framerate and will run 100% smooth if you watch the video. It won't ever drop any frame. It will renderer the demo as fast as possible on your machine, which might be very slow at high resolutions and take a lot of time. Looks "slow motion" while rendering. But the final video will always run perfectly smooth and the audio is perfectly in sync. Don't think Fraps can do that, as it's more intended for "realtime" capture of interactive games, not for self-running animations...

And Fraps isn't free. Especially the video capture feature is unusable in the Demo version :p

are you running 1.04+ of Into the Pink? i couldn't get the party version to cap except on my nvidia. i can't remember the exact settings, either. i had to play with .kkapture's checkboxes, too... and keep AA under a certain level on this 8200 integrated.

Is there a reference copy of it encoded with xvid at the same bitrate for comparison?

posted to same folder

edit: oh, REFERENCE. uhm, you can .kkapture it yourself .. you'll need 20-60gb free, tho. best i feel like doing at the moment is a 1200kbps encode...

Yes, running v1.04. But even without any capture software it won't run on my X1950 XT :(

(It starts in fullscreen, I see a black screen with some lines, but then it stalls)
