I've read that x264 always uses BT.601, but I'm not sure anymore... so what colorimetry does x264 assume the input is in?
Does it change based on certain conditions?

Default is "undef"... which means what? I got the impression that it must assume some colorimetry.
I'm asking because I want to know what it did with my previous encodes >_>
Or am I misunderstanding the concept of colorimetry? :|

Or am I misunderstanding the concept of colorimetry? :|x264 doesn't care what your colorimetry is. The options are merely to signal the colorimetry in the bitstream to some hypothetical decoder that cares.
