Can someone recommend an MPEG-2 editor I can run on my lenny system? I have been using MPEG VCR under windows quite happily. Main features I want are ability to read MPEG-2, cut out bits, splice two files together, etc. Nothing fancy.

Thanks!

Avidemux, kdenlive (if you can compile it or your distro has a RECENT and STABLE version), OpenMovieEditor (again if you can compile it or your distro has a RECENT and STABLE version), Mainconcepts mainactor (Movie Editior thats been discontinued for linux) , Cinelerra (latest version VERY VERY stable but the gui is has a semi-steep learning curve)
On the terminal/cmd line side there is mencoder, ffmpeg which can do most of what the others can but requires patience when either creating an automated script or typing out the cmds.

ProjectX is java based and works on Linux and Windows and probably most other OS too. Not a complete editor but you can be used for cut out commercials and fix the streams.
