I guess the same happened that happens to most OpenSource tools sooner or later:
The developer isn't interested anymore, the developer is busy with other projects, the developer finally got a real life or a mixture of all three ;)

It would be nice to see updates to VirtualDubMod, it has some handy features like it's built-in AviSynth script editor.
