View Full Version : libavcodec playing mpeg2 too fast

Hi all,

I have an odd problem.

As of today, the latest ffdshow + mpc-hc versions still have this problem on my machine.

=====================
When using libavcodec as the mpeg2 decoder in ffdshow, ffdshow's osd shows the decoder frames per second to be out of this world, sometimes 3 or 4 times as fast as it should be... which actually makes the video go fast, stall, go fast, stall... very strange behaviour..

When using libmpeg2 I get exactly the right frames per second..

An uninstall of ffdshow and its settings hasn't fixed this :(
=====================

Does anyone know if this is a known bug because I cannot find anyone with the same problem while searching?

My machine is 7600gt with latest nvidia drivers, vista 32bit.

Yes, that's an ancient bug; I remember posting about it ages ago.

But since libmpeg2 works just fine - where's the problem?

libavcodec dvd decoding work for me only if using Haali video renderer, with ~400ms jitter. the fps will screw up if using other video renderer.
libmpeg2 dvd decoding works with all video renderer except haali video renderer, unless using software deinterlacer...
