Hi,
I am using a really old VirtualDubMod 1.5.10, and I want to upgrade it to the latest 1.8.6. Over at the Vdub website there are 2 versions - a 32bit one and a 64bit one.

The 64bit version claims to be compiled specifically for the 64-bit modes of the AMD Athlon 64, AMD Athlon FX, AMD Opteron, and Intel Xeon EM64T CPUs.

I have an intel Core 2 Quad running on Vista Ultimate x64. Is my system supported, or is the 64bit version only for AMD CPUs?

Core2s have EM64T so you can run the 64-bit version but I wouldn't recommend it unless you really NEED to. Otherwise just use the 32-bit version.

So there's no speed advantage to using the 64bit version over the 32bit version? What's the advantage then?

It may be faster, but can only use 64-bit codecs and input filters. If they're not specifically optimized for 64-bit (most aren't) it will probably be slower.
