Hi,

I have VirtualDubMod 1.5.10 and ffdshow already installed but I can't seem to open AVC files. Is there some sort of configuration I have to set? ffdshow setup and vfw configuration both have h.264/avc supported using libavcodec.

opening avc in avi files in virtualdub works for me.
how about you stop using software that hasn't been updated in roughly 3 years (yes that's virtualdubmod).

So which version of virtualdub do you suggest?

What about the latest official version from the original web-site? ;)

i'd say stop using Vdub with vorbis or AVC...

yes, that would be the ideal, but likelihood of that happening...
-100% :(

OK I got the latest Vdub 1.8.6, but I still can't seem to open those files. Nothing happens when I open them. Help?

One option is to use avidemux, which supports more formats

In vdub, you can open them indirectly with the directshow input driver ("activate" it from the drop down menu in vdub), but you have to re-encode (no direct stream copy function)

Or open them indirectly with avisynth .avs file to frame serve into vdub (again have to re-encode)

i have ffdshow tryouts installed, and set to have h.264 active in the vfw decoder config.

i'm 95% certain that's what my vdub is using to open them up in it.

If this is avi, vdub should work with no problem. A for vfw decoder/coder u can use also death sheep's x264 http://deaththesheep.uni.cc/

If this is martoska, then use directshow plugin for vdub. There is .mp4 plugin too.
