Hi all, this is my first post on doom9, been reading for years.
I am trying to figure out the simplest way to have a standalone blu ray player in my living room connected to the tv, that will allow me to also get the content onto any pc in the house without purchasing additional drives.
I am considering getting a ps3 for the living room and installing linux on it, then dumping images of the discs using dd and mounting those on a laptop to run a decryption program to remove the protection, i was wondering if anyone has tested this or has any idea whether it would work.
what i'd ultimately like to be able to do is to have a blu ray player in the living room, to be able to play blu ray on my upstairs 1080p lcd monitor off the pc if i happen to be upstairs and to be able to play content at 720p on the laptop display when i'm on the road.
thanks for taking the time to read, i know its a lengthy post
