View Full Version : d2s and avi with MPEG audio

Hi to everyone,
with my Pinnacle Hybrid Pro Stick I'm able to record my favourite TV cartoon directly in AVI container with video codec DivX 5.x/6.x and audio in MPEG-1 Layer 2.
Now I'd like to watch them on my standalone DVD player.
When I ask to d2s to open my file it says to me that only AC3,MP3,MP2 and PCM are audio format supported.
Is there any way to workaround this problems within d2s, making me able to encode those avi files?
In case not, how can I achieve what I want? (authoring to a DVD format)
Hope someone will help me,
Stefano :helpful:

Hi!In case not, how can I achieve what I want? (authoring to a DVD format)Use DVDFlick (freeware)...
BTW - "MPEG-1 Layer 2" audio is ".MP2" audio.

Hi setarip_old,
thanks for your reply.
Sure one of this day I'll move over another GUI like AVStodvd or the one you're guessing me.
But if MPEG-1 Layer 2 is the acronym of MP2, why d2s can't read it?
Stefano
P.S.
here it is the GSpot audio info:
----------------------------------------------
Codec:0x0050 MPEG-1 Layer 2 (CBR)
Info:44100Hz 192 kb/s tot , Joint Stereo
----------------------------------------------

Hi stenews,
Can you read your AVI file with Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player?
What does MediaInfo say? Same as GSpot?
Just to check if there is a way to convert your AVI file, try with AVStoDVD (or FAVC, or DVDFlick).
;)

Hi MrC,
yes I can easily read it with WMP and I can convert it with AVStoDVD.
Stefano.
P.S.
I don't have MediaInfo.

Right mates, it doesn't really matter.
I'll manage those avi(s) with different GUI, like avstodvd.
Thanks again,
Stefano.

Glad to hear that you found a workaround with AVStoDVD.
MediaInfo is a tool to read info from media files. Its dll is used by AVStoDVD and many other A/V suites.

Thanks mate.
I wanna to ask you a different question that I'm not able to solve by self in any way.
I was trying to use AutoQMatEnc (build 0.34.0.2) with d2s.
I read somewhere that I have to use Qu2AQE.exe in place of AutoQMatEnc.exe in the tab Encoders of d2s.
Of course I did it but I'm still having problems.
Could you help me, again?
Stefano. :helpful:
