Finally took the plunge and installed debian lenny amd64 on my main box (windows HDD is in a drawer). Anyway, I'm looking for an megui surrogate to use under LINUX. I know avisynth 2 is a win32 only app and megui won't run on LINUX so what are my options? I see handbrake is an option, but it doesn't seem to have all the megui functionality.
Main goal is going from MPEG-2 streams to x264 .mkv or .mp4 with a nice GUI like megui.
Advice is welcomed and thanks!

For MPEG2=> x264 (.mp4 or .mkv) in Linux, one option is avidemux, but the gui & functionality is more similar to virtualdub than MeGUI

Here is another vote for AviDemux. Also MeGui should run on linux (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=141201).
