Hi manolito,
I was trying to use D2SProCoder plugin.
I carefully studied the read me file and I'm pretty sure that this time my system meet all the requirements needed but unfortunately I'm still having a problem.
After that the plugin shut down CCE and DVD2SVCD, DVD2SVCD doesn't resume as one will aspect to do and everything stops.
Here is my log:

Am I correct in thinking the video encodes correctly - it is encoded but then DVD2SVCD doesn't resume to finish the process?
If so, whilst not a proper solution, you could try this:
Open the file "DVD2SVCD_project_file.d2s" from your output folder into Notepad.
In the first line under [Settings], change Project Position to 94 and then resave.
Now reopen DVD2SVCD and do a crash recover from the Misc tab. You should find you can now choose Muxing and Cutting from the list of available stages. It should continue normally from there.
If the video has actually encoded, it would save you having to start over with this particular project.

Hi Nick - long time no see...
@Stefano,
sorry for the late reply - I am still totally jetlagged (from a 4 week vacation in Califonia :) ) and also quite busy during the week. I will certainly have more time next weekend.
Since I did not get any feedback about D2SProcoder when I published it, it has been tested thoroughly only on my own computer. So I am not too surprised about some problems with it. And many things could go wrong with the script.
Your log file looks alright to me. The only thing I would do differently is that you use VFAPI (safe) mode for CCE. For supported versions of CCE this is not necessary (Procoder 2 and 3 can handle AVS input just fine) and only makes your encode slower. But it should not affect D2SProcoder.
You say that after my script shuts down CCE and DVD2SVCD, D2S does not resume and just stops. This means that the script hangs while it tries to determine your output folder locations and reading from a couple of INI files and also modifying some INI file entries. This process is prone to errors.
What is your output folder structure? After a fresh install of DVD2SVCD, the default is just one output folder plus a separate subfolder for subtitles. But you could also have added separate folders for video, audio, muxing and source. In theory my script should be able handle this. But at least for debugging purposes you should go back to D2S's default and have everything except the subs in just one output folder. And this folder should have a short name without spaces and special characters.
Contrary to Nick I believe that the video was not encoded (my script does not execute Procoder, it lets D2S do it by changing the encoder executable from CCE to Procoder before resuming D2S at the video encoding stage). But Nick's workaround is still valid. Only before resuming D2S as Nick described it, you have to do the encoding manually:
After CCE and D2S have been shut down and nothing happens, open Explorer and go to the D2SProcoder subfolder under the DVD2SVCD folder. Execute ECLPro.exe. You will be asked if you want to load an ECL file. Click YES and load the file "CCE_Project_file.ecl" from your video output folder. ProCoder should now execute with all the correct settings, you just have to start the encode. After the encode has finished, resume D2S by Nick's description.
Let me know if this method works. More debugging next weekend...
Maybe I will modify the script in a way that the script itself executes Procoder. This way I can avoid INI file manipulations altogether.
Cheers

Hi manolito, hi Nick
I did what you suggest: open Explorer and go to the D2SProcoder subfolder under the DVD2SVCD folder. Execute ECLPro.exe. You will be asked if you want to load an ECL file. Click YES and load the file "CCE_Project_file.ecl" from your video output folder. ProCoder should now execute with all the correct settings, you just have to start the encode. After the encode has finished, resume D2S by Nick's description. and everything seemed to work as you expected.
But funny is that when I burn the .cue file just created the audio is ok but I can see no video. Just a black screen with a couple of green, blue and red stripes crossing the screen, like when you see a TV not tuning right.
Hear it is my new log:

P.S.
of course this time I leaved all my folders and sub folders as they are created, so the processed files goes inside the "Movie" folder that is inside the main DVD2SVCD installation folder as so on. I have "NO" renamed any files too.
I'm using ProCoder version 2 and CCE version 2.7 both tested before that.

After checking "safe mode (frameserving)" in CCE encoder settings the video became visible but hang after a couple of minutes.
May be on top of that I have to fix some problems with my CCE settings too. I'm using version 2.7 and I read that to work with d2s I should add some template inside the registry.
thanks again,
Stefano.
P.S.
I noticed that if I re-open the file in which I changed the line under [Settings] the number is still 64 and not 94 as I expected. Who re chanced it again?

Maybe I will modify the script in a way that the script itself executes Procoder. This way I can avoid INI file manipulations altogether.
This is exactly what I did. Just uploaded the new version, please redownload and test again...
http://scifi.pages.at/manolito/D2SProCoder/D2SProC.zip
I already did many test encodes using all kinds of output folder structures in DVD2SVCD. Tested xxx2DVD and xxx2SVCD modes, CCE 2.70 in normal mode and in VFAPI mode. I could not break it on my machine.
If you use CCE 2.70, please download my HowTo first:
http://scifi.pages.at/manolito/CCE270/D2S_CCE2.70.zip
because there are some catches when using CCE 2.70 together with DVD2SVCD.
Cheers

Hi manolito,
first of all I'm more than thank to you for your help. :thanks:
I have only a couple of questions to ask you before to start:
1)What I have to do with the previous version of D2SProCoder that I have already installed?
I mean, I just lave it there and I'll replace it with the new one or do I need to do some special procedure to delete it before use the latest one?
2)If I add your template in my CCE SP 2.7 registry. Will I modify the overall installation stability, in a way that I'll never be able to use the encoder with other programs, like DVD Rebuilder pro?
I know that my question can sound little bit silly but I am newbie. :helpful:
Stefano.
P.S.
I'm using CCE SP 2.7 Retail no the trial version. Is it working in the same way?

Either way will work. If you install over a previous version, even your ECLPro setup will be retained. The file "Console.dat" is no longer present in the new version, but it does not hurt to leave it in the D2SProCoder folder. If you delete the whole D2SProCoder folder before installing the new version, you will have to set up ECLPro again.
2)If I add your template in my CCE SP 2.7 registry. Will I modify the overall installation stability, in a way that I'll never be able to use the encoder with other programs, like DVD Rebuilder pro?
CCe templates are just sets of predefined settings for different scenarios which are stored in the registry and can be invoked by simply selecting a template under the CCE settings. AFAIK DVD Rebuilder does not use CCE templates at all, it makes all necessary settings directly in the ECL file which it creates from scratch.
DVD2SVCD uses CCE templates since CCE versions 2.66 / 2.67, simply because the author of D2S did not want to change the D2S user interface for every new version of CCE. CCE version 2.70 is basically not supported by D2S at all. This does not mean that you cannot use it, it just means that there are a couple of issues you have to observe. One of the issues is that you need at least 4 different templates (instead of only 2 for versions 2.66 / 2.67), and the other important issue is that D2S cannot calculate the average bitrate when using CCE 2.70. It is all explained in detail in my "HowTo" file.
Conclusion: Creating CCE templates does not affect your CCE installation stability at all.
Cheers

Right, now it's all much more clear.
I'll give a try of the modified plug-in and I'll report to you as soon.
Bye and thanks,
Stefano. :)

The modifications you did make now the new plug-in working like a charm!
I'm more than thank to you, I really appreciate all your help. :thanks:
