Hi, I'm a DVD-RB PRO user.
Basically I'm use to encode with CCE but now I'd like to test it with CCESP2.
Does anyone to know how I have to configure DVD-RB PRO to make it works with both CCE and CCESP2?
What I mean is:
Which part of my REBUILDER.INI I have to chance to make it properly works with both CCE and CCSP2?

Will CCESP2 encode better and/or faster than CCE?

Hope someone will give to me an hand.
Stefano.

You really don't have to do anything. If CCE SP2 is installed properly, it will be enabled on the SETTINGS/CCE SETTINGS menu. You just select the encoder you want.

No real difference in quality between the two, but depending on the type of processor you have, you may see a speed difference.

Thanks to reply me jdobbs,
I still have this doubt:
I'm not jet installed CCESP2 and when I go to Settings->CCE Settings-> the only option is for the "CCESP2 trial (beta test)"
My dvd-rb pro is the 1.26.6 version.

Will I be able to fully use the CCSP2 retail version 1.00.01.02 as well?

Stefano.

P.S.
My Processor's configuration is:
Dual Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.8GHz with Hypertreating

If you have the retail version, all you have to do is change the header so that it matches with:

CCE_Trial_Header=Whatever the Header Is.

in the INI file. I personally don't have a copy of the retail version so I can't tell you what it is -- but any ECL you create with CCE SP2 will have the header as its first line.

Sorry mate,
in other words, in my case I should add to my .INI:

[Options]
CCE_Trial_Header=; CCE-SP2 1.00.01.02 -- Encoder Control List

Is it right?
If not, where I can get the Header? or Have I to install the encoder, run it and after read the ECL harder to know them?

Sorry for my basic questions...
Thanks a lot again for your help.
Stefano.

My dvd-rb pro is the 1.26.6 version.

Why are you using such an old version?

It seems to work nice and easy for me until now.
Do you think that is time to make an upgrade?

Stefano.

P.S.
Have you never used CCESP2 Retail version? Do you know the header for that Encoder?

CCE SP is way too expensive for me ;-) I use HC.

Well may be you're right...but it's a great encoder, may be the best one.
I think it worth all the many you pay for it.

Stefano. That's right is that is what you are seeing in other ECLs created by SP2.

Many thanks again jdobbs!
I'll give a try and I'll see if I can make it works.

A big thank for your help, ChickenMan:thanks:

Just one more question.
Do you think that I'll destroy my previous installed CCE SP 2.7 retail, if I install CCE SP2 too?
I mean, can I have both installed on my system and be able to use them as well?
The programs that are configured to use CCE are DVD2SVCD and of course DVD-RB pro.

Many Thanks again,
Stefao.

I have and use both DVD2SVCD and DVD-RB Pro. I have CCE 2.50 retail, CCE 2.70 retail and just recently SP2 1.00.01.02 retail installed, they all run fine. DVD2SVCD uses predominantly 2.50 and sometimes 2.70 (for PAL & 29.97 NTSC only) and RB has used 2.70 fine until I (well work did :D ) recently upgraded to CCE SP2 and now it runs with that fine also. I also see no speed or quality difference running on my Q9450 system between 2.70 and SP2. Would be good if jdobbs can find a way to get CCE (any version) to use each processor 90-100% though like what HCenc does :)

Many thanks again ChickenMan.
Have you never used DVD2SVCD with Sonic Scenarist?
I mean, if go to "DVD Image" tab I can see that one could chose it as DVD Authoring program but:
Which version of Scenarist should I have?
How can I set-up d2s to work with it properly?
Will it improve my final result?

Stefano.:helpful:

This is getting a little off topic, but I've found to many probs in the past with Scenarist in DVD2SVCD, so never persevered. But I use Muxman in DVD2SVCD with way less issues than with DVDAuthor and very DVD compliant authoring.

Sorry if I ask you little more...
I read a little about to use Muxman in DVD2SVCD but I have never been lucky to set up it properly.
Could you point me in the right way?
May be posting a good link where to read about it?

Many thanks again.:thanks:
Stefano.

Ask in the new "One click suites for DVD backup and DVD creation" section and I and many others than can walk you through it.
