What are the "BEST" Virtualdub filters for "TWEAKING" high quality Divx encoding coming from a high quality source?
Specifically, I am interested in the best for removing little noise or blocks and adding DVD-like crispness to my encodes.
Also I encode anime, so I guess there are specific ones for that like Warpsharp...
Thanks for sharing the knowledge!

Here's my quick and dirty answer:
1) Smart Deinterlacer.
DON'T use area based deinterlacer unless you want "strobey" pixels
2) Smart Smoother.
Use almost constantly, unless a channel has perfect reception which is oh-so-rare.
3) Temporal smoother. Good for removing VHS flicker & for vidcap-cartoon stuff, but I wouln't use it for vidcap-live. I only use it at the lowest setting - 1. Maybe 2 for vhs-toon stuff.
Setting it at 6 like some people like creates trails.
If I wanted to see trails, I'd drop acid.
I cap in 320x384 because this is the highest res I can get without dropping frames.. My current filterchain is currently:
1) smart deinterlace
2) temporal smoother(1)
3) resize - precise bicubic - 320x384 -> 512x384
4) smart smoother (3,50 for vidcap-toon, 3,30 or so for vidcap-live, 5,40 or 5,30-ish for vhs)
5) logo
