showSMPTE behaviour with ffmpeg/mencoder

I've been searching a way to copy the behavior of Avisynth filter showSMPTE with ffmpeg or mencoder ......

Anybody knows how can i do that?

Anyone knows a method to get the timecode of every frame in the output video?

This is what i want to say with "showSMPTE behaviour", just because this is a filter of Avisynth that does it.
