The problem is that you then have to constantly search for web pages that link to doom9's site and compile a list. However, doing this will probably discourage people from trying.

Hi,

I answer you few weeks ago with this email : julien@media-video.com.

We don't leech your links... I have deleting all the "OLDREF" tag in our code. OLDREF don't mean HREF !

We have a big server for Media-Video and we don't need to steal your links !

And how about some PHP script that sends the files so the browser cannot find out its location?

these scripts can usually be circumvented if you don't combine them with a referer check.. I'm trying to get my hosts to implement the latter.. that means no more direct links from anywhere but my own domains.. that should stop the problem for good.. I bet these 500gigs of traffic are not only causes by my site but by other sites leeching of it.. and then there are the people downloading the whole site.. I think which I also want to make impossible.

well.. be my guest. Once before they were stealing all my links so I had a chat with them and they eventually removed everything (or so I thought.. not sure if I really checked) but now it looks like it's only getting worse.
