Is there anyway to get GK to always use the same value for Bits/(Pixel*Frame)? I like to always use 0.200 for my videos and I'd like it to automatically always calculate the file size I needed, based on the video and audio inputs. Anyway, is there a way? Thanks.

GK can’t do that automatically. It’s a bad idea anyway because BPF doesn’t take the movie’s complexity into account, i.e. always same BPF = (vastly) varying quality between movies. If you want movies with constant quality use a fixed compression check percentage.

I didn't know that. Thanks a lot for the info. How do I set a fixed compression check percentage? Thanks.

Also, what's a good and/or average compression percentage to use? Thanks.

Oh men, another guy using GK...
Keep on using it
Maybe there'll be a new GKMod soon

How do I set a fixed compression check percentage?
1. Set up your encoding like you think it might work.
2. Do a compcheck.
3. Change resolution etc. around until the percentage is ok. Aim for 60–80%.
If a fixed target size is not important for you, probably the better solution would be to abandon 2-pass encoding and use 1-pass quality. However GK is not really suited for that.
