Not sure if this is totally the right forum for this but here goes;

I am looking for a single box solution which will allow direct freeview recording preferably twin tuner with auto record series support, which will also allow scart or similar connection recording from sky box when required, I then need to be able to transfer recorded items at reasonale speed, preferably network connection to PC for any required recoding prior to dumping on our existing media server for distribution around the house to existing media players. If at all possible I would like the same unit to be able to access our media server to play back movies etc . Have discounted sky+ due to inability to transfer or decode to media server compatibility

If required I am willing to seperate the media player requirement to a seperate unit but as we have a home cinema (Projector) and tv in the same room we can run into issues with wiring up to all outputs particularly with audio supplied by a seperate amp.

It all gets very complicated but if someone can point me in the right direction as a starting point it will be helpful. Just dont want to make another mistake like the kiss (which if it actually did what it implies I would be happy with).

We already have a kiss dp558 which we thought would do what we want but it fails miserably, a typical example of rushing a product out with insuficcient thought, while it offers full program listing and series support the tuner is only anologue so it will only work on 5 stations, no digital channels, also although it has network support for recording transfer it is via ftp which is only 10mbps so isn't worth having unless you are happy to wait hours for even the smallest of transfers. The known issue of intermittently losing audo when viewing or recording doesnt help either.

It may be that a solution to my requirements isn't yet available but any info would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.
