Hi,

I use Encore CS3 for authoring SD/BD.

But converting srt files to txt scripts is a real torture to me.

The process:

Convert sup/vob to srt.
Save it as UTF-8 txt.
Edit manually.

The original txt (saved as UTF-8 txt)

1
00:01:18,640 --> 00:01:20,960
Do you find me sadistic?

2
00:01:26,879 --> 00:01:33,600
You know, l'll bet l could fry an egg
on your head right now.

3
00:01:33,680 --> 00:01:35,880
lf l wanted to.

4
00:01:37,519 --> 00:01:39,400
You know, kiddo.

Txt edited manually:

1 00;01;18;38 00;01;20;58 Do you find me sadistic?

2 00;01;26;53 00;01;33;36 You know, l'll bet l could fry an egg
on your head right now.

3 00;01;33;41 00;01;35;53 lf l wanted to.

4 00;01;37;31 00;01;39;24 You know, kiddo.

Any way to convert srt to txt as above?

Any input would be appreciated.

best.

You may use subtitle workshop to convert it.

Have you tried to save the srt as Adobe Encore format via Subtitle Workshop?
Here is what I get this way:

00:00:39:03 00:00:40:21 line 1
00:00:41:01 00:00:42:21 line 2
00:00:46:16 00:00:47:24 li
ne 3
00:00:51:15 00:00:52:14 line 4
...etc

What do you mean exactly? You can't load the srt to SW? If so try to save first the srt as ANSI.
