Not sure how to more accurately title or address the weird problems I have been having.

The initial problem occurred while attempting to watch recently purchased DVDs (Outer Limits "time" and Swamp Thing) I found on two different systems (win2kprosp4) the DVD would stutter.

Now I have used MPC in the past without issue, though have upgraded a few times via the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack (current version: 4.1.7)

I was using MPC v6.4.9.1

Both systems were checked, and are set to DMA and they have the ASPI update installed.

I figured they were just cheap DVDs, so I decided to rip them to the HDD and watch them from there. Using DVDShrink, and previewing them, the DVDs in question played perfectly!!!:confused::confused:

Now this has me rather confused, and am unsure where to start looking for a cause. DVDShrink plays perfectly via its preview, yet MPC stutters, and has not in the past.

Anyone have any ideas where I should look within MPC environment?

Thanks.

Shrink has a built-in renderer so it can playback files even if system codecs have been messed up which is likely in your case cause codec packs generally suck. Try to set a different renderer in MPC and next time simply install the xvid codec which can playback most FourCCs.
