Would DVD Shrink be first choice of all the freeware on this forum to transfer only the basic movie to my HD for a movie data base library for a projection TV, with no intension of burning disks?

@BillB

Hi!

Please clarify - Do you desire/intend to retain fully functional DVD format, retain only as an (unconverted) MPEG-2 format, or convert to another format for playback?

I want to copy the basic movie from the DVD to a HD and play it through a front projection TV unit to a wall screen.

Suggestions please!

You got it in your first post. Use re-author mode.

If I'm reading this post right and all you are wanting to do is get the movie to the hard drive then I think dvdfabhddecrypter (http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm)(free) would be the better choice for you. Just select to rip main movie. No compression is done.
