Hi!
I've made one scene from a DVD to test if it works, so I don't always have to wait that long! It worked perfectly! Now I have made the whole DVD and then CCE just stoped at about 20 %! I could still see the window, but it stopped! This is not because of the DEMO is it?
Then I resumed it and burned the whole CD (700 MB) with about 780 MB (Fireburner)
But I can't play it with "Power DVD XP 4.0 Deluxe"
It keeps trying to read it and dies...

Why does CCE stops and why can't I play the DVD when I got the whole Movie on it?

Hope you can help me...
Thnx (Sorry for my bad english...)

Hi!
I just changed some things and try if CCE stops again!
I made 79min on one CD (700MB) is this the reason why I can't play the Movie? do I have to take the lenght=size settings from DVD2SVCD or can I make more on one CD by setting the video lenght just higher and DVD2SVCD makes a smaller bitrate?
Thnx

Please read the CCE sticky in the advanced forum. This is a known issue.

Hi!
I'm sorry I found it with the CCE and it seems to work! But why couldn't I play the CD with the whole movie?
Thnx!

I am having a hard time understanding what you are doing.
If CCE only did 20% chances are it never encoded the whole movie.
One cd for a movie is very small. It is usually at least 2.
It is probably a bad encode.
Maybe if you posted your DVD2SVCD.log file we could help more.
Have you tried playing the cd on your DVD player?
I know PowerDVD 4.0 is suppose to play SVCD's, but have you tried WinDVD? That has worked perfect for me on my computer.

I think, if I read what you are trying to say right, that it is a bad encode.

If you had "do not delete files" checked in the misc tab you should have at least one file named bbmpeg_muxed_File01.mpg. If you have that file try to play that in media player and see if it works.

Hi!
I installt the patch from Q&A!
Everything works perfectly with Power DVD but I wonderd about the size! In DVD2SVCD i typed in between 0min and 79min use 1 CD (800MB)! So it should work for an CDR with 700MB! The Filesize then was 805MB and I could burn it on a 700MB CDR how that???? The qulity ist perfect though I got 79 minutes on one CD why?? I heard something else!!
Thank You!

The answer is in the Newbie guide or Q + A and much more technical then I can tell you.

Basically you are burning minutes not megabytes with video. If you look on a 700mb CD-R it says 800 minutes.

So 800 minutes = 806mb (with DVD2SVCD) = can burn on a 700mb/800 minute CD-R.

In my opinion anything longer then 45 minutes should be on 2 cd's or quality really suffers.

Hi! Thanx for your reply! If you say anything longer than 45minutes, how can it be that I Have 79 Minutes on one (700MB CDR) with very good quality? I don't have a DVD player for my TV i just have a DVD Rom for my PC! Is there any difference in qualitiy?????
Because on my PC with the "Power DVD XP 4.0" the quality was great, really, it was like a divx with 1500kb/s!!!!
Is there a difference to the DVD Player for the TV???
Thanxs!

It's really comes down to what you think is great quality.
I may think a picture is poor, but you may think it's good.

Also a TV is much larger then a computer screen. I have seen many mpeg videos that have looked great on my computer look aweful on my TV. The smaller you make the image the easier it is for you not to notice problems with the video.

For Mpeg-2 to look really good on a TV the average bitrate should be over 1800 and with that setting you just can't get 79 minutes on one CD.

I am pretty sure that when you do get a DVD player and play the SVCD's on it that you will notice a big difference.

In the end though it's all personal taste and for me I would never do a SVCD with less then 1800 average bitrate. Usually at least 2200.

Hi!
I mean the quality is really like the real DVD! I don't see no difference! But that's it, i don't know how it is on a TV! I have just heard from a friend that PC and TV Quality is the same! I got to see it by myself!
Thnx!

pc and tv quality aren't the same. Just watch a svcd in both and tell me what do you think;). About the quality of the movie versus number of CDs, it depends of the kind of movie. If it has a time lenght smaller than 100min, has a main colour (for example, "red planet" is, most of time... red:D) and is encoded as 16:9, it will have a very good image quality even if fitted into one single CD.
