Hi
How do I find out which framerate a movie were originally shot in?
I suppose that any US-movie is shot in 24fps, but on IMDB multiple countrys are often referenced.
Also are there any other countrys that use 24fps for movies?
Can I assume that the same production studio will always use the same rate?

Film is always 24fps, whether it's shot in the US or Europe.
The only time you might get 25fps maybe is a TV movie shot on video for a PAL country.

I have shocking news...
Turns out that all cinemas show movies in 24fps both in EU and USA, but as TV and DVD appearently has a broader acceptance, movies in EU are recorded in 25fps and slowed down 4% for cinemas.
I would like to have other confirming this.
Thanks

Where did you see this? I very much doubt it is true.

In a cinema here in Germany I watched a movie that was shot in 24fps, and they showed it sped up to 25fps. I noticed it because I knew the song that was played over the closing credits.

Flimsy: I contacted the danish movie institution. I'm currently trying to contact different danish movie studios to hear if they say the same thing :)
Zwitterion: Was it a US or EU movie?

A few theatres in Sydney have digital playback via DVD and in this case playback would conform to the PAL standard of 25 fps. (although, as most equipment, both domestic and professional, is multi standard in Oz there could be exceptions!)
Film projectors in theatres are set at 24 fps. When I worked at ABC TV everything including film was shot, edited, sound mixed and shown at 25 fps as is the standard (PAL) in Australia. . So my guess is that if the theatrical presentation was via DVD in Germany it would be 25 fps; if it was film it would be surprising if theatres set their projectors at anything other than 24 fps the international film standard.
As I have the blessing/curse of perfect pitch it annoys the hell out of me and I wish there could be just one world standard.
