For the past years, I've been using the following method to encode my home video:
Premiere 6.0 (with Avisynth plugin v0.25) for all the clips and effects, then export movie via Avisynth 0.3 (yes, its the old v0.3) to Cinema Craft Encoder v2.5 for encoding.
This served me for many years on win xp. Recently, I built a new PC, still on win xp, installed the same software on it. But it doesn't work. Premiere directly export to an avi file works, avi file feed to CCE 2.5 also works fine. Chaining them with Avisynth doesn't work. Here is some more detail and the failure point:
Double click the install.reg of Avisynth.
From Premiere, export via link to Avisynth with file name "prem_cced.avi".
A file named "prem_cced.avs" containing Avisynth script with only one line "IPCSource("prem_cced.avi")".
On CCE, open an old ecl file, delete the old input file and add the new input file with name "prem_cced.avs", then it failed to the MS Send Error Report screen.
The same procedure and same file name and content still work on my old PC, but its too slow now. Other software on the 2 PCs are not exactly the same. They both are win xp sp2. They both have the above software and same version and installed from the same source. But the old one has Window Media Player 9, the new has WMP 11. I don't know if this make such different. Or what else should I look for to resolve it?
