Hi all
I have a MPEG-2 program stream produced from a tv capture card and am trying to burn with Nero or image burn . Neither one recognizing this type of stream.
I'm missing something.
I'd just like to get this on DVD to watch on a standalone player.
apologies in advance if this has been covered a zillion times.

Hi!trying to burn with Nero or image burn . Neither one recognizing this type of stream.Sounds like you're trying to burn as if it was a Video DVD. Just burn as a data DVD...

Still no joy
I've loaded both files I'm playing with .
The second one is taken from my JVC everio video cam. It also is in program stream format .

I tried to burn both of them with Nero (as data)and both times when played on standalone it reports no disc. I tried a backup movie on the same media with no problems.

It depends on your player. Maybe it can only play the files in the DVD Video format; then you will have to create a standard DVD from your files, with some software eg. free DVD Flick.

Thanks for the help
I've been a little busy hence the delayed reply .
DVD flick will trans code into a ts stream, but the quality isn't the same. The other problem is I have over 400 vids taken from the camera .

Side note , the files from the everio cam will play in WMP 10 but not in VLC player . I try to play in winamp and it says corrupted file or unsupported module type.
Hope this helps

Ok, turns out that the Everio camcorder records in .MOD

So anyone who has purchased a JVC Everio HDD video camera has probably learned that they chose to use some god forsaken proprietary video format - the .MOD extension. Apparently this is some sort of MPEG2 encoding, however, most major video editing suites prefer not to accept this format…

Anyone know any good software for .MOD to ... ?
TIA

(This is not a spam.)
Have you tried simple renaming to MPG?

Have you tried CyberLink PowerDirector (if available)?

If you have problems preserving aspect ratio, this might help:

This was one of the first things I tried. No joy.

Have you tried CyberLink PowerDirector

Yes, but I have little control over the post processing . Itīs also expensive, and a bit bloated.

I have Cyberlink Power cinema for my TV card, and cyberlink Power cinema NE for everio for the Camera. (This works sometimes)

This is why I was hoping for a different front end to drop these .MOD files into.

Two more questions: have you tried SDCopy (my post above) and would this (donationware for some features) help?

Thanks for taking the time to link those alternatives.

SDcopy does just what I need. Straight rename to MPEG with no audio skew .

Converio looks like a good alternative to the software provided with the camera. The only downside is you have to donate like you said ,just to see if it works.

Once again thanks for sorting my JVC proprietary format mess out
