Hi,

I am a newcomer to this wonderful forum and to DVD2SVCD. DVD2SVCD works fine for me - but I have troubles to burn the image files to cds.

I try to use Nero 5.5, because I have installed that and it works fine for me for other purposes.

I run my P4 under Windows XP home edition - and that seems to be the reason why fireburner does not work for me up to now too.

So, please could somebody tell me how to burn the cue-file with Nero?

Maybe if you read the newbie guide like it says
"Read Before Posting" you wouldn't ask such questions.

I suggest you read it and if you still have questions ask then.

open cue file via file-burn image.

Let's keep it friendly ;)

Thank you for your message - I will try to find the description mentioned here.

And I am sorry dear mark, if it makes you upset if somebody new to that forum has not the overview as you have it!

That has nothing to do with being friendly or not.
In forum-rules is written you always first have to read the Q&A and FAQ before posting.
In the other case you don't find any important questions because of repeating the 20th time why this CCE-logo is in the movie or how to set the bitrate tab.
I don't want to sound unfriendly, but this is the truth.

If you read my post it basically says to read the Newbie FAQ and Q + A and if you still have questions I will try and help.
The post is clear as day "Newbie FAQ read before posting". It is called a FAQ because these are frequently asked questions. The information there is much better then almost anyone here can duplicate. It's for your own benifit to read it. I have been doing this for some time now and I still go and read them all the time to try and find answers.

It is not trying to be friendly or mean, it's trying to point you in the right direction.

@markrb and Labersack:
I read the Newbie FAQ and the latest Q&A and for the rescue of Wolfgang i must say there is no explanation of how to burn the created images with Nero! There is a guide for Nero that's true but it only describes how to create a VCD with Nero! - So i think his question was a legal one.

@Wolfgang:
I assume you use the german version - right? Just go to 'CD-Image brennen...' (Burn CD-Image...) under the 'Datei' (File) menu go to the folder where the images are and select the *.cue file. Nero then shows the 'Burning Dialogue Window' here you can set the desired Paramters and burn the images.

One last hint, for me Nero can't write the *.cue files with the 'Disc at once' method, it always gives an error saying that something went wrong with the cashing of the files. So if you get the same error try using the 'Track at once' method. For me it worked then.

try vcdhelp.com and look under svcd. they have a nice tutorial for burning with nero. you won't be burning your bin/cue files, you'll be burning your .mpg file. so under the dvd2svcd 'misc' tab, make sure 'dont delete any files' is checked that way you have the mpg files to burn. under the image tab, check 'dont make images.' thats the easiest way to burn with nero.

The easiest way is to download the latest Nero 5564 and then you can use the wizard to load the .cue file created by DVD2SVCD.

@gerti67 I have gone and re-read the FAQ's and you are right the info isn't there, but thats where the
"If you still have questions I will try and help" comes in.

Now that you made me aware of the lack of info in the Guide I am willing to help. All that needed to be said is that the info in the guide doesn't cover buring Cue/Bin files. Now I am aware of this and will not be so quick to point out the FAQ on this question.

If you have been around here for any length of time there are certain questions that get asked a 100 times a month. Most are easily answered if the poster took the time to read the FAQ's.
There is a frustration level the older members feel with constantly answering the same old questions that are in the FAQ.

In this particular case the guide is not right for this situation.

The Nero question has already been answered in this post and I cannot add anything.

Hi,

Herbert Valerio Riedel, VCDimager author, said that Nero should not be used to burn bin/cue files generated by vcdimager/vcdxbuild, because of file corruption issues. Well, if the author of the program said such thing... it is better to use another burner, don't you think;)?

Try vcdeasy as frontend of CDRDAO. It works like a charm:cool:

Dear all,

true is, that there is *no* faq about how to burn the cue file with nero, only a general guide about how to burn mpeg-files (thanks to Gerti to state that).

It worked fine for me to open the cue file via the menue of Nero \file\burn cd image, to choose the cue file. Frankly spoken, you have to know that, but then it is straight forward. I do not know why that is explained for other tools like fireburner, but not for nero.

Well, at least I as newbie have done that now, and it seams to work. However, what I have seen is that the titles are gone, and at least my philips player has clear troubles to switch between the english and the german audio.

Do you mean that by file corruption, or what do you mean here?

What file corruption problem?
I used to use VCDEasy all the time and occasionally I had failed burns and in some parts the picture would be distorted / noisy. Since Nero 5564 was released, I have used it many times without any problems at all.

yes wolfgang. the information about the physical position of some files, like title picture, are found in another file (I don't remember exactly its name) of the table of contents. If such file is corrupted, the player cannot read its information. Using Nero, the better choise is to use the final mpeg file, which can be bbmpeg_muxed_***.mpg or ***_subbed_***.mpg, and to follow this guide (http://server1.doom9.org/mpg/nero.htm). However, if it works fine for you burnning cue/bin files, you are a lucky guy and there is no problem to fix;)
