I've been trying to convert my "300" Blu-ray (German edition) with help of x264 and MeGUI to 720p in a Matroska container.

I was a little irrated because I missed the target size by quite a lot, and this never happened with all other encodes I've done so far.

When I took a look at the encoded file I found out that at the second half the picture was totaly messed up. The first half was watchable but very pixelated.

The ripped content (untouched m2ts-file) plays fine in MPC, PowerDVD and MeGUI preview, but I can't get it to work using the above mentioned tools.

I tried different versions of x264, MeGUI, profiles and bitrates, but the result was always the same.

Any ideas why I am getting this error? Or have I discovered the secret stereogram mode? ;)

It sounds like your decoder decided to crap out.

Last time I saw anything similar it was because the person was trying to encode from a version that has been demuxed directly from the blu-ray and at one point the decrypter decided to take his perm and go fishing. So -copy- your m2ts to your hardrive before encoding them.

I think I found out what's causing the trouble. There is one frame in the original .m2ts that isn't decoded correctly (god knows why I didn't noticed it when I checked the file last time).

Unfortunately it seems like my original disc already contains this error. I'll do some testing with a friends disc next weekend.
