When I try to play an LPCM audio track with MPC, I get terribly loud distorted sound from the left surround channel. It seems to happen only when there are surround activities in the sound track at the time, but I can't be sure.
What you think guys, how can I fix it, didnt come across many LPCM tracks before, should I try some other splitter or audio filter, using AC3 Filter 1.51a now.?
Cheers

Hi!
1) Have you tried playing it with any different software players?
2) If this is a track you've "ripped" from an original source (presumably a DVD, BluRay, or HD-DVD), does the original source exhibit the same behavior when played on your PC? Does it exhibit the same behavior when played on a standalone player?

You can't play raw pcm just like this. You need to mux it into a container (e.g wav, m2ts, etc). That's because raw pcm doesn't contain any info about its format (channels, bitdepth, samplerate) and these info are provided by the container.

I did not mean raw PCM but LPCM found on Blu-Ray discs.

By "raw" i mean "demuxed".
-----
Little lesson
There are 2 kinds of PCM widely known:
Linear PCM or just PCM and is found on Blu-ray Discs and in 99,99% of the wav files.
Packed PCM or MLP and is found on DVD-Audio. In addition, TrueHD is very similar to MLP.

I was talking of the ones found in m2ts files.

You got it wrong. He doesn't mean any LPCM track found in Blu-ray discs. There are lots of (chinese?) torrents with Blu-ray movies, the video and audio tracks are remuxed to .ts and the LPCM tracks in those torrents sound like crap, exactly like the OP is describing probably due to bad remuxing or something. Muxing them into Matroska for example solves the problem.

I got it wrong?
In addition the OP says "When I try to play an LPCM audio track with MPC", not a .ts file containing LPCM sound.
Maybe you are right about this though. Don't know. The OP doesn't reply anymore and NimaBeamer keeps saying the same thing. Some more info wouldn't harm.

Do you realize NimaBeamer is not the OP? I'm 100% sure of what I'm saying, but of course he won't tell you the file is downloaded. If you want to see yourself the bad left surround channel in those torrents download one to test. As described, the horrible sound happens mostly when there is action in that channel.
