When i open multiple instances of MPC and open a file in each of them, only in the first opened opened file audio works.
If I stop the first file, the audio appears on the second..
What is this? I don't remember having this issue on my other machines...
I'm using MPC HT (tried the non HT version too.. same thing) with latest ffdshow codec
VLC for example flawlessly plays multiple files at the same time with both audio and video working on each of them...

Maybe the audio device is busy from the first instance, so the second instance cannot access the audio device?

Might be an audio driver problem...

Look at Options>>Playback>>Output>>DirectShowAudio and make sure Default DirectSound device is set. Maybe that's the issue.

it's not the audio driver problem since i tried both my HDMI audio output and my integrated soundcard output... also 2 VLC instances played audio on 2 different files wihtout problems...

also i can't play anything using the direct sound device... when i do that mpc reports there's no codec??
so far using the "straight" soundcard output on my other pc worked fine... never used the direct sound option for output..
could that be the problem?
i have the latest ffdshow installed ...
