It was clear they couldn't look @ all the interoperability disasters anymore so know they act together to bring the ultimate secure Online Film Content experience to it's Customers so that a barier free Secure Content playback is granted for the Future for Hollywood.

Imho this will also will have a big impact on other companies DRM solution now like DivX Inc/Mainconcept,Adobe,Apple,Real Networks practicaly all that provide their own DRM system have to rethink now (Customers will demand it) except currently once again Microsoft has nothing really to fear.
