got the same problem with that files as soon you Use Crash Recovery
The file is getting deleted, even when you say NO to the question that's asked.

Ok, sorry.
It's asking if I wanna Reuse the VAF File.
I say Yes, and then I'm getting the CCE Error. (see other thread)
when i look in the folder all the VAF files are gone.

Iīm not asked any questions. There is no VAF files at all! It doesnīt create any! It also did it on the first go, not only when using "crash recovery". I searched through the whole computer for *.vaf, but didnīt find any! in the LOG file it says: VAF file creation : ON!
I was so happy when i found a program that did the whole thing, Subtitles. etc.. for you! And then I canīt get to work!! Iīm going nuts about this!
Is there another way to write the VAF file?
The Log look like this!:
Executing Cinema Craft Encoder.

Why some people come an try these program and then just because something happens start complaining?
Be patient try another movie, read the FAQ, read the post in these forum, check your hardware, reinstall yur operating system, try win2k etc.
The mayority of the people who have have used these program for several months have decoded to many movies to mention successfully.
So be patiend and keep trying.

Very good answer JulCat;)
my suggestion is the following order:
1st) read "newbie Faq" and each one homepage linked there;
2nd) use the "search" function of this board to verify if your question/problem was already posted here;
3rd) verify your hardware;
4th) try another movie;
5th) ask for help.

Hi
got the same problem to create (1st time only !) vaf file.
Previous version of DVD2SVCD worked just now fine (windows 2000 environment !) ; only have this problem with new 1.06b1 ; i checked my settings (output flder by default --> ok ; all the ouptut folders in each tab --> ok)
; for the moment, when CCE freezes (unable to open the vaf file) i stop the process and use crash recovery at the same point ... and evrything is ok and go ahead !
Remark : when previous movie is all done, i clear my "movie" folder before start to convert a new one ...
any idea ...
Just a general question : i try to play SVCD mpeg file with a player like windows multimedia (6.4)... and have a problem of format definition (invalid format) ; is it possible (may be not !) to do such operation ? with a special codec ?
If someone could help me ...
Thx
