View Full Version : MEGUI 3.0.2010 won't encode

Since updating to core version 3.0.2010 I cannot encode a thing. I get an error immediately upon starting the encode. I'm using the exact same settings I've always used. I don't know enough about this program to determine what the error is. It just says error in the status column of the Q tab. I reverted back to version 2002 and everything works fine again. So just a warning that there appears to be something wrong with core version 2010.

Same here. Seems as if the Bluray standalone profile (and related ones) were not updated to reflect this change:

- (sharktooth) Updated AQ settings for the new x264 revisions

The error from the log file:
[Error] An error occurred: x264 [error]: invalid argument: aq-mode = --sar

The error occurs with all x264 profiles...

1. Select the profile of your choice and click on "Config".
2. Go to "Advanced" tab.
3. Under "Adaptive Quantizer" set "Mode" to "Variance AQ" - even if it is already selected(!).
4. Hit update at the bottom of the window.

Encoding should work now. However I do not know if "Variance AQ" is recommended for all profiles (it is x264s default). We will have to wait for an update from sharktooth.

I get the error too and can't encode anything.

Thanks Warrex, that worked for me :)

I suspect that just setting the AQ setting back to whatever it is in the profile (change it to the other, then back) and updating the profile should sort it..
